Still need to sort some childcare for the little people? Mr Sanders Sports Camp held at Holton St Peter Primary School, offers multi-sports activities for children from any primary school from 9am-3pm. The Edgar Sewter Holiday Club also offers childcare for children from any school aged between 4-12 years old from 8am. And Football Camp with Adam & Perry is back! The Suffolk HAF has a collection of free activities and holiday clubs for children who receive benefit-related free school meals. To see what is available around Halesworth, please visit their website.
Halesworth Library holds a baby and toddler group all year round on a Tuesday – Rhyme Time & Play from 10am – 11.30am, the library also has baby changing facilities.
The beautiful paved paths through our Millennium Green are the perfect place to go for a walk with a pram or pushchair, just follow the path through the town park and past the skate park and basketball court. Or why not treat yourself to a coffee in one of our bustling pavement cafes and watch the world go by.
There are some fantastic events on through the Summer Holidays at Halesworth Library. Please see the posters to find out what is happening each week and book your place direct with the library (£1 per child). Visit the Children’s Corner for books and toys to suit all ages and explore the secret Library Garden! Sign up to this Years Reading Quest too – fun for all ages.
Come along to St Mary’s Church every Thursday during the summer holidays for a free lunch and a play including storytelling, crafts and more. All ages are welcome and don’t forget to drop off your old, good quality school uniform and pick up some more whilst you are there!
Try out Purple Pumpkin Creative Studio for pottery painting and much more, look out for Summer Holiday Workshops too. Always a good idea to book if you can. Jade also offers takeaway baskets to paint at home at your leisure.
Visit our picturesque Town Park and enjoy the safe enclosed playground as well as the skate park and basketball court. The benches under the trees are a perfect shady spot for a picnic.
The brilliant ‘Youth Space’ will be running all through the Summer Holidays at St Mary’s Church on a Monday night between 6.30-8.30pm. There is always a warm welcome and free food on offer including burger nights and pizza plus loads of fun activities.
Pick up your skateboard and head to the skate park or pick up your pool cue and head to Chinny’s Sports Bar!

Why not make use of Halesworth newly refurbished tennis courts at Dairy Hill. These are available to book online for an hourly fee via the website.
It is the British Summertime after all. When the weather isn’t playing ball, hide out in the dry – view the latest exhibition at the Halesworth Gallery, head up to the Halesworth Museum, situated at the train station to discover some ancient artefacts and local history or visit the Cut Arts Centre to see what’s on.
There are many family friendly places to eat in Halesworth. The Angel has a great children’s menu, highchairs and baby changing facilities. The Black Dog Deli, The Greenhouse and Focus Organic have an amazing range of scrummy picnic foods and freshly baked goods, Rhubarb and Rose or the Farmhouse Bakery are perfect for a home baked cake. If you are in town on Market Day (every Wednesday) there is a always a great selection of food stalls including fresh fish, cheese and pies and freshly baked goods. The older teens and young adults will enjoy the menu at Chinny’s. And we haven’t met anyone yet who doesn’t enjoy fish and chips from Seashell or Tululas. Find a full list of eateries below.
There are all sorts of things to enjoy on our doorstep here in Suffolk – stunning beaches; choose busy Lowestoft for the bustling amusements or Walberswick for the wild dunes and crabbing bridge, Southwold for the colourful beach huts and the Pier. Visit RSPB Minsmere our famous nature reserve and pick up an Explorers pack. See what’s on offer at Ed’s castle on the hill in Framlingham. Halesworth is the perfect base to explore from.
Halesworth train station is a short walk from our town centre and here you can hop on a train to one of our neighbouring towns – Woodbridge to visit the Tide Mill or Beccles for the lovely River and Quay perhaps? And if you live close to the East Suffolk line, then hop on a train and visit us in Halesworth for the day! You can even hop on the Crab-Train on Friday 21st August, which will transport you to Woodbridge for an afternoon of Crabbing!
