Experience an extraordinary evening of musical fusion as renowned sitar master Baluji Shrivastav OBE joins forces with virtuoso flamenco guitarist Ignacio Monteverd. This unique concert explores the fascinating historical connection between Indian classical music and flamenco, tracing the journey of musical traditions brought to Spain by Romani travellers from Rajasthan.

The performance brings together an exceptional ensemble including Baluji Shrivastav OBE on sitar, one of India’s greatest instrumentalists and recipient of numerous prestigious awards including an OBE for his services to music, joined by virtuoso flamenco guitarist Ignacio Monteverde. The performance will also feature traditional flamenco dance by Lourdes Fernandez and masterful tabla accompaniment by Yousuf Ali Khan.

Witness both traditions in their pure form before they intertwine in a mesmerizing display of musical mastery. The evening promises a spellbinding journey through geography and genre, as these legendary performers create a tapestry of sound that transcends cultural boundaries.

Baluji Shrivastav OBE, one of India’s greatest instrumentalists, has collaborated with artists including Coldplay, Massive Attack, and Stevie Wonder, and memorably performed at the 2012 Paralympic Games closing ceremony. His partnership with flamenco virtuoso Ignacio Monteverde creates an unforgettable fusion of Eastern and Western musical traditions.
