Exploring with colour, you will be designing & creating your own unique mirror mosaic with artist and designer Carolyn Ash at this creative workshop for 10-16 year olds at Halesworth Library, as part of The Blank Page Project!
Workshops take place from 9.45AM to 3.30PM and include a free lunch, drinks and snacks!
Unleash your creativity using mosaic and colour therapy in a magical combination! Carolyn will be nurturing you to design & create your own ‘Enchanted Mirror Mosaic’ on wood, exploring colour in a therapeutic way using an array of recycled, vitreous & natural mosaic tesserae. You can also bring your own treasures to recycle and rebuild a new beautiful memory from something broken.
Workshops are completely free to attend but must be booked in advance. You can book online via eequ.
If your booking is made within 72 hours of the workshop, we may not be able to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Please get in touch with the library location for the workshop to discuss options. Please note that whilst we welcome all young people our staff are not specifically SEND trained.
Carolyn is an artist and designer and has been specialising in using Mosaic as a medium for 20 years. After going to art colleges and running her own design company in London for many years, Carolyn moved back east where she is most inspired by the patterns found in nature and exploring the psychology of colour in therapeutic ways. As well as regularly creating community artwork and owning a studio called ‘The Green Room’ in West Acre in Norfolk, she holds bespoke nurturing workshops open to the public as part of the ‘Open Studios’ programme. Carolyn is passionate about encouraging the ethos of incorporation of recycled and broken up-cycled materials in a creative way, creating new memories in mosaic form.
The Blank Page Project is an exciting new programme providing free high-quality creative activities for young people, run by local artists in libraries during the school holidays. Funded by the Department for Education’s Holiday Activity Fund.
This workshop is only for 10-16 year olds. If you feel your child requires additional support in the form of adult attendance in order to access this workshop, contact us by emailing katie.puls@suffolklibraries.co.uk.
