For their next concert, Music for Passiontide, Pakefield Singers offer a rare chance to hear Haydn’s serene Stabat Mater, a luminous and reflective re-telling of Mary’s grief at the foot of the Cross in solos, ensembles and richly meditative choruses. In contrast we then explore the stirring and dramatic account of the crucifixion from part two of Handel’s Messiah- ending with the glorious Hallelujah Chorus!
