Sonic stories workshop with Natalie Whitney

August 2, 2024 @ 9:45 am - 3:30 pm

Sonic Stories Blank Page Project

Join audio-visual participatory artist Natalie Whitney for this free creative workshop for 10-16 year olds at Halesworth Library, as part of The Blank Page Project! Get hands-on with creative technologies to make your own interactive artwork that creates sounds!

Workshops take place from 9.45AM to 3.30PM and include a free lunch, drinks and snacks!

This workshop will introduce you to the exciting possibilities of creative technologies and offer you the chance to explore unusual and imaginative ways to make music together. After we have had a play with the tech, we will each choose a starting point from a range of inspiration materials – postcards, poems, magazine pages, or you could even bring your favourite book or photo along. Using a mix of craft and conductive materials we will create responses to our starting materials. Finally, you’ll bring your creation to life by adding sounds using electronics. By the end of the workshop you will have created your very own interactive, noisy artwork!‍

How to book

Workshops are completely free to attend but must be booked in advance. You can book online via eequ.

If your booking is made within 72 hours of the workshop, we may not be able to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Please get in touch with the library location for the workshop to discuss options. Please note that whilst we welcome all young people our staff are not specifically SEND trained.‍
