We love blockbuster reds at Bacchus Beyond so we didn’t need any excuse to put together a tasting of a selection of some of our favourite reds with that special Ooomph to offer at a tasting. We decided to call the tasting We’re Jammin’ as the we’ll be celebrating a selection of eight wines that are a bit of a melting pot of some of the different styles of gutsy reds that are made in different parts of the world. We also hope our reds will demonstrate that gutsy reds do not have to be too jammy as (in wine speak terms) the
residual sugar in the wines should be in balance with the deep fruit flavours and tanins that give red wine its depth and punch. We’ve picked out wines from Italy, Spain, Australia, France, Lebanon and Greece that feature grapes such as Primitivo, Grenache, Xinomavro, & Cabernet Sauvignon allowing us to compare the same grape variety from different places and similar wines from different price families.
This will be a cracking tasting of some brilliant wines and we’ll be jammin’ til the jammin’ is through.
