The summer is over, autumn is with us, and soon Mother Winter will wrap herself about the land like a great icy cloak. Her long freezing fingers reaching inside one and all, tickling their ribs and chilling them to the bone.
And so it is a time to gather together, to warm our hands and hearts with some stories from Dave Tonge, the Yarnsmith of Norwich.

Artist Biography
Dave Tonge, also known as the Yarnsmith of Norwich has been telling stories for over 25 years, and performs at festivals, museums, heritage sites, schools and libraries all over England and beyond. From Lindisfarne Holy Island in the north, to Arundel Castle in the south, he works regularly for English Heritage and national museums like the Ashmolean and British Museum. He has written three books, Tudor Folk Tales, Norfolk Folk tales for Children and Medieval Folk tales for Children, with a fourth, Trickster Tales from Many Lands, due out in 2025. Dave likes to tell riddles and stories of magic and mystery, myths and monsters and also comic tales about the ‘common folk’, the poorer people of long ago.
