Father’s Day Inspiration

Sunday the 16th June is Father’s Day and you may be wondering what to get dear old Dad. Halesworth is the perfect shopping destination. Our pedestrianised Thoroughfare is lined with independent shops giving you the opportunity to purchase unique gifts, most of our shops also offer gift vouchers. We also have some other great experiences on offer including wine tasting and a round of golf! Below, we bring you a small selection of gift ideas and experiences. We also have some excellent pubs, restaurants and cafe’s so why not spend some quality time with Dad by taking him out for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner.

YouDrink Bottle Shop and Taproom have an impressive array of craft beers and ciders from East Anglian Breweries. Their Father’s Day Gift Boxes are a great present for a beer-mad Dad. Choose your own bottles, or ask the friendly and knowledgeable staff to make up a box for you.

Boozy Gifts

Bacchus Beyond an independent Wine Merchant, situated just off the Market Place, boasts a large range of wines to peruse and purchase, they also offer bespoke wine tastings with proprietor and wine connoisseur Peter – what a fabulous evening out that would be!

Presents for Music Lovers

Is Dad a fan of vinyl? Disco Diva? Secret Raver? The Halesworth Music Emporium has you covered. With a huge range of vinyl, CD’s, DVD’s and artwork spanning all genres of music and very reasonably priced, this shop is a must for eclectic vintage Dad-based music gifts.

Dad’s with younger children

Perhaps it’s Dads first ever Father’s Day, or the younger children want to give him something extra special – it doesn’t come much more heart-warming than a hand painted gift from Halesworth’s very own Purple Pumpkin Pottery Painting Studio. Contact Jade and the team to unleash the creativity (but be quick, to get your gifts fired and back in time for Fathers Day).

The Halesworth Bookshop has some wonderful books for Dad’s, including Peppa Pig – ‘I love you, Daddy Pig’ for the little people, right up to books about hobbies, travel, local history or a good old novel for Dad to get his teeth into. Gift vouchers are also available if you can’t decide!

A dedicated follower of fashion

If your Dad is a fan of jewellery – perhaps a fancy watch, a shiny bangle or some snazzy cuff links, then head to Denson Jewellers in the Thoroughfare. Denson’s have a large range of quality, modern jewellery gifts for Men that Dad is guaranteed to want to show off

If accessories are more Dads thing, then try out Gecko Shoes – set out over 2 floors, they have a great range of colourful socks as well as stylish silk handkerchiefs, hats, shoes and plenty of other items Dads will love.

Young at heart

The amazing tardis that is Focus Organic, has several rooms full of all kinds of quirky gifts, some of our fave Dad pressi’s are the planet-friendly accessories such as the colourful belts made from plastic bottles, the funky ‘leaning men’ bookends and the shelves full of games and gadgets – great for the Dads that are still young at heart. There are also bright cards and sustainable gift wrap, food and drink gifts and much more.

House proud Dad

Halesworth’s stylish Huus store is full of homeware, gifts and accessories, for a Dad that is at home in the kitchen, we think they will love the range of stylish kitchenware – cork coasters, wooden chopping boards and spoons, colourful crockery and funky aprons. Another great gift is their lovely chunky, lightly fragranced soaps.

Dad Activities

Valley Farm Vineyards in Wissett, just outside Halesworth, produce award-winning vintage still and sparkling wines with grapes grown in their 8 acre vineyard. Their wines can be purchased on site or online. Book Dad a wine tasting and tour of their beautiful site with owner Adrian, who is passionate and knowledgeable about all aspects of his vineyard.

Halesworth Golf Club is a stunning 200 acre golf course on the outskirts of Halesworth offering 9 and 18 holes. Enjoy a round of golf with Dad then treat him to a delicious lunch in the Clubhouse (best let him win tho). Or treat him to some gift vouchers to spend in the Gift Shop.
