Ale Day returns for 2026! Celebrating brewing, history and hospitality. Join Halesworth for a day of fantastic events; brewery talks, beer making demos, guided walks by local history experts, the Malt experience exhibition & tours at the Cut Arts Centre, walks along the Blyth Road Navigation to the site of the restored HSNGR, the new Ale Trail taking you around former and current pub locations, family area with games, crafts, live theatre and more. Fantastic live music from East Angles Brass, Blyth River Blues Band, Ballard Bootleggers and Daisy & the Continentals. Sample the exclusive Halesworth Ale – being brewed especially for the Halesworth Ale Day by Tindall Brewery.
Explore the Millennium Green and the Blyth Road Navigation – learn how the Wherry Boats transported Malt up the River Blyth for the production of beer. Find out about the famous brewers and many maltings buildings. Take a walk around town and view the locations of the former public houses and visit the current ones! Learn about the railway and its role in beer production, visit Halesworth’s Museum located at the train station and view the excellent exhibition on brewing. Walk up to the Halesworth Narrow Gauge Railway site at the Folly and see the progress being made to restore this. Enjoy Halesworth’s pedestrianised Thoroughfare – grab a bite to eat in one of the award winning deli’s or cafes and enjoy the live music. Head up to Chinny’s for a game of Snooker, Pool or darts. Sample local ales and visit The Tap Room for their Beer Festival, the White Hart, The Angel and The Swan. Peruse the impressive range of independent shops Halesworth has to offer. Improved Family Area with live theatre from Strange Fascination Theatre Company, face painting, craft activities, games, stilt walkers, gigantic bubble blowers & entertainment.
Reach us by bus, train, car or cycle. Halesworth train station is a 5 min walk from the town centre and a great place to start your day, being home to the Museum and not far from the Cut Arts Centre. There are also 3 car parks in the town centre and regular buses.
