Located in Halesworth’s Victorian railway station building . A volunteer-run local museum gem with permanent and short run displays of local finds and the rich history of Halesworth town and its neighbouring villages.
Discover the stories of local treasures from internationally significant finds, including axe and spear head hoards to Roman silver and gold Bronze Age coins.
Permanent displays include: geology; the de Argenteins (medieval Lords of Halesworth Manor) and the Ancient House carvings; the Lincolne Letters; railway memorabilia including the history of the Halesworth moving railway platforms.
Halesworth and District Museum is friendly and free to visit – donations are always most welcome! There is easy access for less mobile or disabled visitors.

At other times of the year and throughout the summer, the Halesworth & District Museum is open five days a week.
