Family Friendly Food

Our lovely cosy country pubs and bars are family friendly. The Angel, The White Hart and The Tap Room are situated on our vibrant pedestrianised Thoroughfare – currently awash with colour from all the planters in full bloom and the White Swan is just on London Road, a short stroll from the Market Place. Enjoy outdoor seating in the sunshine at all of the venues. Chinny’s Sports Bar on Norwich Road is a great choice for the teenagers – pool, snooker and darts to keep them entertained. All the above are also short walk from the Town Park and Millennium Green. If you fancy a mid-morning pastry or a picnic lunch, pop into the award winning Black Dog Deli or Focus Organic. Or if giant scones and fluffy homemade cakes are more your thing, try Farmhouse Bakery, Rhubarb & Rose or The Tudor Bakehouse.

Free Activities
Halesworth is a great destination for free activities and those on a budget. Explore our Musuem, housed at the train station, ponder the latest art exhibition at the Art Gallery or The Cut – enjoy the Malt Experience whilst you are there. Pack a picnic and explore our spacious town park with play areas, skate park and basketball court. Scoot, cycle, or wander the length of our accessible Millennium Green. Download a walking trail, whether you need minutes or miles, we have a great selection. Utilise the Library – borrow a book, a CD or a DVD and see what free activities are on whilst you are there. Join Pauline for her legendary free picnics at St Mary’s Church every Thursday during the school hols.

Rainy Day Ideas
No sunshine? No problem. Head over to Purple Pumpkin Pottery Studio, grab a take home kit if you can’t squeeze in the studio. Visit Hetty at the Copy Shop or Wotsits and stock up on coloured paper and craft supplies. Pop in to Melons Greengrocers for some fresh, seasonal fruit and make your own smoothies!

We love pre-loved!
Halesworth has an excellent selection of charity and secondhand shops. Whether you are looking for books, board games, clothes, shoes, accessories… you’re bound to find it here. Dee’s Den at Steeple End, EACH at Angel Link and St Elizabeth Hospice and Families Together in the Thoroughfare are all treasure troves. You can even pick up secondhand bikes at Cycle, Car & Camping Accessories. And of course there is a great selection of pre-loved school uniform available in St Mary’s Church when it’s time to go back to school.

Transport
Halesworth is easily accessible by train and bus, and the train station and bus stops are a short walk into town.
