INK is the UK’s leading producer of original short plays. It is unique in that it produces all its own plays. Since inception in 2014, it has produced and performed over 500 new plays for stage and radio by both first time and experienced playwrights aged 8 to 80.
The INK Festival has been hailed by the media as “East Anglia’s own mini Edinburgh Festival” and “one of the biggest celebrations of short drama“.
Year on year INK is getting larger and louder.
It now has significant partnerships in place with other local festivals and theatres including: Snape Fringe, Alde Valley Arts, First Light, Digital Drama, Theatre on the Coast, High Tide, The Aldeburgh Literary Festival, and long-standing friends, the University of East Anglia.
2023 saw the first time that a fifth day was added to the Festival. The INK Youth Festival Day welcomes local secondary school students at performances of the short plays to experience the thrill of live theatre free of charge.
